About
RoBarry Publications & Literary Agency
RoBarry Publications was established in 2015 in Calgary, AB, Canada (Treaty 7 territory). Rohadi Nagassar founded the imprint to publish a collection of titles including the art venture Soul Coats – Restoration. Rohadi has worked in the publishing industry since 2015 and has published works with both RoBarry Publications and traditional imprints.
Our publishing imprint focuses on non-fiction manuscripts in creative non-fiction, spiritual and personal growth, art books, justice, and faith. These books also match what we are looking for in our literary agency.
In 2024, RoBarry Literary launched with a focus on creative non-fiction writers seeking publication.
RoBarry Literary is currently accepting pitches from all writers. BIPOC and LGBTQ2+S writers are especially encouraged to pitch.

What is the role of a literary agent?
Literary agents represent writers. Our main priority is to prepare and ultimately sell your manuscript to publishers. Oftentimes publishers will only take pitches from agents.
The most significant role literary agents offer is preparing book proposals prior to pitching. This work that takes months to prepare but is necessary for publishing success!
RoBarry Literary will also walk alongside you throughout the entire publishing process. We are your advocates working in your best interests!
How is your literary agency different?
Our role is to help prepare and sell manuscripts to the right publisher. We also know there is a gap in the industry surrounding author support during the writing venture, and after publication. We hold a particular ethic to walk with our authors throughout the entire publishing venture ensuring author and book are well.
How much does representation cost?
Your book agent should not charge you any money. We are compensated when your book sells, and subsequent royalty payments. Typical fees range from 10-20% of the author’s total book royalties and advances.
What does publishing look like?
We will only take on projects that fit our ethos, and those that do usually fit within our hybrid publishing approach where authors contribute a portion to the production of their books to share with the world.
What is hybrid publishing?
What is the wait time for a reply for agency?
We aim to reply to inquiries within two weeks for authors looking for agent representation.
How long does it take to receive a response for publishing inquiries?
You can expect a reply within one month, usually sooner. We will also aim to provide you with some feedback. (November, 2025)
